When it all began...and what the hell's going on now!
Back in 1994 Tim and Soly took time out from their Black Rock raves to open a small vintage shop in Brighton's North Laine, (although back then we tended to call it second-hand !). Over the following years Ju-Ju has evolved into an edgy clothes shop selling small independent labels and cool quirky stuff from a few of the more cutting edge labels such as Run & Fly, Pop, Jack and Jones and Bellfield.
We are one of the longest established clothes shops in this vibrant area of the city, but it hasn't always been plain sailing. Back in 2007 we were having a bit of a tough old time and in stepped Mary Portas to give us a little guidance and advice (arse kicking) when we appeared on the first episode of BBC's 'Mary Queen of Shops'.
Since then we have gone from strength to strength. Ju-Ju has become the 'go to' shop for fashion conscious shoppers who are bored with the usual suspects on the high street. The zebra striped building became a Brighton landmark, even though Mary wanted us to paint over them! Recently we have undergone a transformation (see top photo) that will ensure that
Ju-Ju remains one of the most photographed shops in the whole of Brighton, if not the UK, if not the whole entire world/universe!
We are always looking to introduce more exciting labels into the shop and we have recently added a couple of very cool local labels called Hello Dodo and tee shirts by Inky Kat that we absolutely love. We hope you do too.
If you're in Brighton, pop in and say hello. We'd love to meet you.
